Celebrating a Memorabull First Year: Remarkabull Marketing Turns One.

Some dreams don’t just stay dreams, they get built, branded, and launched into the world. On 3rd February 2025, Remarkabull Marketing officially turned one.

After 13 years working across agencies and in-house roles, starting my own business felt both surreal and long overdue. I didn’t start from scratch, but I did start again, this time building something aligned with my values and the way I believe marketing should work.

Building something meaningful (not just busy)

Remarkabull began with three brilliant clients and grew quickly to support over 40 businesses across Sussex, Surrey, and beyond. The variety has been huge, but one decision shaped everything: choosing to focus on small Sussex businesses.

That choice has been the most rewarding part of this first year. I’ve grown alongside my clients, understanding what it really feels like to run a business, make careful decisions, and want marketing that genuinely delivers. I care deeply about each business I work with — because when you understand the pressure and pride that comes with ownership, you show up differently.

Immersing myself in clients’ worlds

Great marketing doesn’t happen from behind a screen. I’ve immersed myself in my clients’ businesses; visiting, booking, buying, and experiencing what their customers experience.

That insight shapes how I work. Even when I’m brought in for one service, I take a joined-up approach. If I spot a PR opportunity, a partnership, or a smarter way to build momentum, I’ll pursue it. Marketing works best when tactics don’t live in silos.

A year of results

There have been some brilliant wins this year:

  • National and front-page PR coverage

  • Social media growth with meaningful engagement

  • Brand identities built and refreshed

  • Website builds and redesigns

  • SEO improvements that deliver results

  • Design work across print, digital, and social

The focus has always been on outcomes, and I’m so proud of every one of them as our client’s growth is our growth.

What this year has taught me

Turning one has also brought important lessons.

I thought I had systems in place from day one, but I was initially trying to work to other people’s standards, not my own. Once I designed ways of working that genuinely suited me and my clients, everything became smoother and more sustainable.

I’ve also learned the value of getting support earlier. Bringing in an accountant and a VA sooner would have freed up time and headspace, a reminder that doing everything yourself isn’t a badge of honour.

Giving back, from the start

From day one, Remarkabull has dedicated up to 20 hours a month to pro bono work. That’s included free strategy sessions for women business owners and supporting a Sussex-based counselling service.

Using marketing skills to make a real difference has been one of the most grounding and rewarding parts of this journey.

Recognition (and gratitude)

In under a year, Remarkabull has been highly commended at the UK Small Business Awards for New Business of the Year and Female Entrepreneur of the Year, and nominated in the Brighton Girl Awards Top 10 for New Business of the Year.

I’m incredibly grateful, not just for the recognition, but for the trust clients placed in me from the very beginning.

Looking ahead

Year two is about building on strong foundations: more impact, continued growth, and marketing that works hard for small businesses. We’ll expand our pro bono work, keep supporting causes aligned with our values, and continue doing work we genuinely care about.

Because the first year isn’t just about surviving, it’s about building something worth continuing.
